Sparkling Night & Candle Light

by Molly Wilcox

When I look out of my window at night all I see is beautiful bright light. I know it’s not for spring, summer, or fall because the light is for winter. The spirts show us beautiful light that can only be seen on a winter night. So, look closely in the sky because it’s one of the most powerful moments. The skies are silky, beautiful and bright but only on winter nights. The spirts trust us to keep this promise. Now you might be asking, "what is this promise?”. Nobody knows the promise but it's there. So keep it. Thank the spirits by looking up into the night sky. That is one of the only ways we can still talk to the spirits. The spirits made this world become true. They are the voices you hear in your head that congratulate you when you achieve something big. Everyone sees something different in the sky. I see the future with good darkness.

When I am driving in my car at night I see a type of light. It’s not the spirits in the sky shining down at us at night. It’s the light in my neighbor's windows. It’s decorated so pretty with pine, berries, and gold. Can you guess what it is? It’s the candles, the bright beautiful fire in them too. They don’t represent the spirits. They represent everyone and everything in this world. They say you can’t judge people by their culture, color, and way of doing things but by their character. They say treat everything and everyone with respect, responsibility, and kindness. The candles by the windowsill mean hope and the future. They are only out in the winter because that’s when you can see the magic in the air. The candles are trying to tell us something so listen to them.

So, next time you look out a window on a winter night remember this, remember to thank the spirits. Remember to listen to the candles because they are two of the most important things of winter.
