Grant Writing Workshop
Write with Community, Inc. invites artists and creatives to a practical, idea-building grant workshop facilitated by Midori Evans and Corey Nuffer.
Interested in applying for a grant but not quite sure how to present your idea? This two-hour workshop will help participants learn how to shape their project descriptions, what components to focus on, and how to read their own drafts like a grant reader.
Come with a specific project idea or choose from sample ones provided in the workshop.

She Maps the World: Poetry by Women
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Write with Community, Inc. brings poetry into motion at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Midori Evans and other Westport Writers Group members join poets Diana Cole and Vivian Eyre.
This three-gallery “progressing poetry” experience invites visitors to journey through space and story, encountering six local women poets whose work explores history, whales, family, the sea, and the natural world.

Creative Catalysts celebrates the interplay and creative exploration that happens when artists of different mediums work together. From quilts that map out New Bedford to photographs of seaweed and homemade jigsaw puzzles, this innovative exhibition journeys through questions of perception, inspiration, and connection.
Land, Water, Spirit
Hosted at a local Quaker meetinghouse, Land, Water, and Spirit presents readings and a slideshow from the newly-released Waterscapes: a SouthCoast Anthology, with its insightful narratives and striking images from thirty area authors and photographers. The event is a shared exploration of the intersection of art, spirit, and care of the Earth. Readers will be sharing personal stories of their connections to the land while other visitors who work in the fields of agriculture and garden design will speak of how their work resonates with that of artists and photographers.

Enjoy readings from the newly-released Waterscapes: a SouthCoast Anthology, offering a unique literary opportunity to share the insightful narratives and striking images of thirty area authors and photographers. Co-produced by Midori Creativity and the Westport Writers Group, Waterscapes chronicles the life-sustaining essence of this shared coastal canvas through singular moments that define us, quench our thirst for connection, and wash over us with meaning and memory. This is the second in a series; the first, The Landscape About Us, won an honorable mention in the Independent Publishers of New England 2024 book prizes.
