Our first anthology, The Landscape About Us, wins an IPNE award!
Published in 2024, The Landscape About Us: A SouthCoast Anthology, explores the local landscape around the SouthCoast (MA and RI) and how we interact with our landscapes and in turn are shaped by them. The anthology won an Honorable Mention in the Independent Publishers of New England 2024 Book Awards. A project of Midori Creativity along with the Westport Writers Group, the collection of photography, essays, poetry, and fiction connects us with the meaningful places in our lives.
We held three live readings from The Landscape About Us in the spring of 2024, at Davoll’s General Store (Dartmouth), the Westport Public Library, and Dedee Shattuck Gallery (Westport).
This program was supported in part by a grant from the Westport Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
Further thanks is extended to Davoll’s General Store and the Westport Public Library for offering a gathering space for our anthology readings. Always, many thanks go to the writers and photographers of SouthCoast, Massachusetts who contributed their time and art to build this incredible anthology.
