Distance

It feels good to dive into projects. We’ve known that sweet spot where things are flowing and we feel connected to our work. But what happens when things are flowing and we spend the day plopped in front of our devices and still….nothing? Getting distance from our thoughts and our work is so invaluable. Stories abound of inventors and creators who got that burst of insight when they were in the shower, on a walk, anywhere but at their desk. When things aren’t moving, we tend to think applying brute force will solve our problems but that never works. Take some distance. Set something down for a few days. Let it percolate.
