Podcast Feature: Midori Evans on The Artists Index
Midori Evans, founder of Midori Creativity, was recently featured on The Southcoast Artist Index Podcast where she shared about her work as a creativity coach and how she supports artists and writers across the South Coast.
Midori believes that creativity is not just for artists; it’s something everyone has. Through her programs, she encourages people to reconnect with their creativity in different ways, whether through writing, collaboration, or personal exploration.
Her perspective on writing includes the idea that it’s not about being perfect or getting published but rather is a natural skill we all share. From storytelling, playing with words, and connecting with language, writing is about expression, not perfection. As she puts it, “I want everybody to realize that you can be a writer, even if it's just to write for yourself.”
Since moving to the South Coast, Midori has created multiple programs that bring creatives together. One is Artists Share!, a monthly gathering where people from different creative fields share their work and exchange feedback. Writers are invited to come! In October and November, this mix of perspectives with its new ideas and inspiration will again be showcased at Groundwork Gallery during the Creative Catalysts exhibit. This year’s theme is the Lens of Literature. If you are interested in taking part, reach out or come to a gathering of Artists Share!.
