Fall

by Ryan Pacheco

Hi, my name is Ryan, today is Saturday in Westport, Massachusetts. My Dad said we are going to rake the bright orange leaves into one big pile. I asked, “Can I invite some of my friends over after we rake the yard, so we can play in the leaves?” “You can only invite them if you clean all of the leaves up after,” Dad replied. So we went outside into the shed and got the rakes and then we raked, and raked, and raked. You get the deal we were out there all day. I was so tired I completely forgot about my friends. I went inside and fell asleep right away because I was exhausted from raking.

The next morning, I woke up really early and I wasn't tired. I looked outside and I saw the leaves had changed colors from the day before and they were brown. They were so brown I could have mistaken them for chocolate. Also there are even more leaves today. So I ate breakfast and called my friends over to play in the leaves. When my friend got here, only one was able to make it. We ran to the pile and dove in. Then we jumped in about 1,000 times, but we had to rake them up about 500 times. At the end of the day I went inside and went to bed because I had a flight to catch at 2:00 am so I didn’t want to be late.
