Submission criteria:

  1. Photographic work should highlight SouthCoast and Westport landscapes. You may wish to explore the question: “What is a landscape?” You do not need to take a wide-angle view; close-ups of birds and other natural objects are fine.

  2. We recommend that you set your camera or Iphone for larger size images. Ideally, photographs submitted should be a minimum of 3000 pixels on the longest size with a file size greater than 4MB.

  3. Submissions should be in JPEG format. See wetransfer.com as a resource for sending large photo files, if storage is an issue.

By participating in this exhibit you are granting rights for displaying work in the gallery as well as agreeing to have your work in a portfolio book and catalog. You retain the rights to your work.

How to submit your work:

  1. Draft an email to info@midoricreativity.com

  2. Attach 1 to 3 photos of the work you would like to submit to the show. The fee is $15 for one image and $5 for each additional image.

  3. Pay your submission fee via PayPal. Please write in the notes “Meditations 2024 submission fee.” If you do not have PayPal, you can pay instead via Square. Your submission will not be complete until the fee is paid.

Acceptances will go out January 15, 2024

If your work is accepted into the show, we ask that you sign a contract agreeing to:

  1. Writing a bio and artist statement in the provided format

  2. Dropping off/picking up your work in a timely manner or making alternate arrangements

  3. Signing up for two volunteer slots between June 13 and June 23. Volunteer slots include two-hour gallery sitting slots, show hanging, and event set up/clean up.

  4. Contributing on a sliding scale the cost of framing your photograph which runs to a total of $150 per photograph. A minimum contribution of $40 is expected; please contact us to make other arrangements if necessary.

In addition, participants are highly encouraged to sign up for and attend both the preliminary gathering on January 21 from 1 -3 pm to connect writers and photographers and the “Meet the Photographers and Writers” public event which is tentatively scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, June 15.
