Creativity and Quiet

Regaining Imagination

What time do you get up in the morning? Are you the only one up at that hour or do you wake to the sound of your children, your neighbors, or the city around you? When so much of the world went into lockdown earlier this spring, it was a noticeable difference. So many of my friends were commenting on how the quiet was restorative, clearing away cobwebs and helping restore peace. There is something different about having an hour of quiet in the morning rather than in the evening: the pace of the day is slower and the challenges of the day aren’t swirling around in your head. Even if you get up only ten minutes earlier, see if you can find that time.
