Time of Fire

By Eve Lesses

This time of fire in the early evening sky

Summer has rolled up like the hay bales in the field

and is slipping out.

My Indian summer landscape is beginning to look like my gold-laced Wyandotte Koyo

who mirrors the color of changing leaves and dwindling daylight.
